Perspctives on Engineering Challenges
This was a very engaging course. Prior, I had no interest in bettering the planet as I believed that the world would fix itself as an entity. The course taught me that this is not the case. It taught me that there are multiple scopes to every problem and that all must be considered when solving it. My favorite project was when we needed to invent a product and go through all the tests as if it was our business. In order to make everything successful, we needed to think critically and plan ahead.
Impact of Current Efforts to Solve Global Challenges
This project was very interesting to me. I enjoy the world of cryptocurrency. However, I previously only looked at the financial aspect of it. This project made me look at cryptocurrency in other scopes. In this circumstance, it was through the scope of sustainability, which was very cool to see and understand that everything must be looked at critically, and from different eyes.
Future Solutions Poster
The future solutions project was my favorite of the semester. We created a solar wrapping material that would allow users to utilize solar energy easier, and cheaper. This solar wrapping material would also be more efficient in tighter spaces. Bringing solar energy to the masses as an affordable and easy to access product, would be crucial to the future of our planet. This product targets everyday people who want to better the planet, without breaking the bank. Our product is cheaper because it uses much less material and does not require professional installation. I loved doing this product because it made me think about solving a problem from all possible angles.
